A History Spanning 150 Years

The site of the Temple has had a varied and interesting history - steeped in the traditions and times spanning over 150 years.

It has always been recognised as a House of Worship and has maintained its unique character and peaceful atmosphere.

Temple on the Park faces onto Camperdown Memorial Park. It was a cemetery from 1848, and was for twenty years the main general cemetery for Sydney, with the total number of burials being about 18,000. Many people who were important to the early history of colonial Australia are buried there. It became Camperdown Memorial Rest Park in 1948.
